Occupation: Biz Owner-Technology
Consulting Website: www.tlatechnologies.com Marital Status: Committed Relationship Favorite high school memory?: Favorite memories would have to be Athenas. Most memorable experience since high school?: It's been way to eventful to simply pinpoint a single memory. But it was pretty cool to run into Mary Ruscitti-Kennedy again and reconnect. From Deborah: Okay, I'm not lost! I've simply been enjoying life here in sunny Florida! So let's see...20 years, huh? Well I guess a lot has happened in that time, but in a nutshell, believe it or not, I graduated with honors from Elmhurst College. I went from an administrative career to a sales/recruiting career until my S.O. (Eric) and I decided to start a technology company in 2002. We sold the assets of that company in 2005 and in 2006 moved to Tampa, FL to start a new venture. And we love it here! Can't imagine ever, no definitely never moving back to Chicago to endure cold winters! We will however, come back for the reunion in October and are looking forward to seeing everyone. We have no kids, and don't ever want them. I have another website www.nokidsforme.com. We have tropical fish instead. That's about it. We are working hard at building our empire and having fun all along the way. Growing older but not up. See you all soon! Deborah Lassa |

Occupation: Mom
Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 2 Favorite high school memory?: When the girl's basketball team beat Hinsdale South to win the regional championship senior year. I don't think anyone expected us to win! From Wendy: Hi Everyone! Time sure does fly by!! I graduated from Elmhurst College in 1991 with a degree in elementary education. I then worked in a few districts before settling in as a 2nd grade teacher at Sunnyside School in Berkeley, IL. While working there I went to Concordia University and earned my Master's Degree in Math and Computer Science Education. In 1993 I met my husband John, at a bar of all places, and we got married in 1996 at the Tivoli Theatre. We had a lot of fun doing it there. Everyone threw popcorn at us on our way out. When my daughter Jocelyn was born in 2001 I quit working to be at home with her. I am still at home with Jocelyn who is now 6 and Nolan who is 3 1/2. I love being with them all day long and wouldn't trade it for anything. I do plan to go back into teaching when my kids are older and no longer want me around. On a different note, my brother married an '87 graduate, Sue Jachimek, so of course she is my sister-in-law. She's a wonderful addition to our family! I have enjoyed reading everyone's profiles. |

Occupation: Toy Designer
Website: www.lindieandfriends.com Marital Status: Single What song or TV show reminds you of high school?: anything by General Public, Depeche Mode, The Cure Favorite high school memory?: Chamber Choir From Kara: Wow! It's hard to believe that 20 years have passed. I went to Northwestern for undergrad and spent my junior year in England. I had a great time and made lifelong friends. I moved to San Francisco in my early 20's and taught elementary special education in Oakland for several years which was an incredible learning experience for me. I got my master's in special ed. while teaching. Although I loved living in the Bay Area, I moved to New York to work for the Fresh Air Fund, a not-for-profit in New York City that sends kids from low-income families on summer vacations. I eventually went back to school for Toy Design. Since then I've designed games for Nickelodeon, LeapFrog, Sesame Street, and Disney. I've recently started my own toy company and not-for-profit which combines my interest in urban education with toy design. The toy company is called Lindie & Friends. The not-for-profit is Crafty Kids and involves teaching kids toy design in New York City and abroad (website coming soon). I'm setting up the same program in Kenya and I hope to add a new site each year in a different country. The kids will communicate through the website and eventually meet to design toys together. The whole process of starting both my company and a not-for-profit has been very exciting. I'm in Chicago often since my family is there. I think about moving back but I love living in New York and would find it hard to leave. Unfortunately I won't be able to make it to the reunion. I'll be in Prague for vacation and to check into starting Crafty Kids there. It's been so interesting to read about what everyone is doing. Thanks to everyone on the reunion committee for pulling this together! |

Most memorable experience since high school?: My wedding and the birth of my two kids, of course. From Michael: Thanks to the committee for the great efforts in planning this event. Seems like we are a lot more organized and full of spirit than when we were in high school! Pretty soon after college, I married my college sweetheart and DGN alum Jennifer Ravetto, and we now have two great kids - Max (9) and Katie (7). We've been up in Libertyville for the last 14 years and love it here - the downtown is a lot like downtown Downers. I still play soccer, and coach my kids, too. Looking forward to the big event - see you all soon. By the way, don't be looking for the sweet '69 LeSabre in the parking lot- I had to get rid of it a few years ago. |
